Drone Flight Permission Planning Checklist for India

A current-status planning checklist for clients and operators to verify location, aircraft, purpose, airspace, site approval and live official...

A permission plan should be based on the actual flight, not a generic promise that a city or aircraft is “approved.” Location, aircraft, purpose, people, altitude, date, site owner, airspace and current official workflows all affect feasibility. Rules and platforms can change, so verify the live position immediately before operation.

Confirm the location

Send an exact map pin, boundary, altitude or visual objective, nearby aerodromes, sensitive areas, private property, crowds, roads, railways, water and the site contact. “Bangalore” or “near the airport” is not enough for a useful review.

Confirm the aircraft and operation

Record aircraft category, registration or documentation, payload, pilot credential, commercial purpose, day or night plan, people separation, take-off and recovery point and whether the output is photography, inspection, mapping or live broadcast.

Check official sources

Use current DGCA material, the DigitalSky airspace map, the Drone Rules source and relevant site or security instructions. This article explains what to gather; it does not grant permission or replace the live process.

Record dependencies

List site approval, security induction, local authority instructions, weather window, access, traffic control, client privacy rules and the person who can stop the operation. A flight may remain unworkable even when one part of the paperwork is complete.

FAQs

Does a green map area guarantee a flight?

No. It is only one part of a current assessment; aircraft, operation, temporary restrictions, site rules, safety and privacy still matter.

Can a previous permission be reused?

Not automatically. A new date, location, aircraft, purpose or operating condition may require a fresh review.

Can a client ask the production team to fly first and check later?

No. The operation should be planned and confirmed before take-off, with a clear no-go decision if conditions are unsuitable.
