Drone Client Approval Checklist

What project owners, marketing teams and engineering reviewers should check before accepting drone deliverables.

A fast review is not always a complete review. Before a drone project is accepted or published, the right stakeholder should check technical quality, content accuracy, privacy, branding, permissions and file usability. The checklist differs for a film, a property campaign and a survey handover.

Video and photography review

Check the agreed locations, subjects, shot list, framing, exposure, focus, stabilisation, horizon, motion, colour, sound, aspect ratios, logos, captions and export resolution. Confirm that the chosen music, people, property and third-party assets have the intended usage rights.

Survey and inspection review

Check coverage, capture date, coordinate system, units, control or check-point report, exclusions, cloud or terrain classification, layer names, file opening, measurement assumptions and report conclusions. The reviewer should distinguish a visual indication from a verified engineering finding.

Privacy and publication review

Look for faces, plates, private windows, neighbouring property, security systems, restricted areas, sensitive operations and metadata. Decide which files are internal, which can be published and whether any blur, crop or redaction is needed.

Acceptance and archive

Record accepted versions, open comments, required corrections, final approval contact, usage scope and archive location. Do not overwrite the original delivery when a corrected version is issued; preserve a clear version trail.

Use the deliverables guide and data-security guide.
