Drone Inspection Tender Scope of Work: What to Specify in India

A procurement-ready structure for defining assets, inspection questions, safety, data, reports, pricing and acceptance criteria.

A drone inspection tender should describe the decision the inspection supports, not only ask for “drone photos.” Clear scope helps bidders price comparable work and helps the client reject outputs that look impressive but do not answer the engineering, facilities or maintenance question.

Describe the asset and access

List locations, quantities, heights, components, drawings, access restrictions, operating status, nearby people or traffic, known hazards and preferred inspection windows. State whether the work is visual, thermal, mapping-based or a repeat condition survey.

Define the method and evidence

Specify required resolution, viewpoints, asset IDs, image indexing, control or check points, coordinate system, thermal conditions, defect categories, annotations, report format and limitations. Ask bidders to explain what they cannot verify from aerial imagery.

Put safety and dependencies in the tender

Identify site induction, escorts, isolation requirements, traffic management, exclusion zones, weather thresholds, emergency contacts, permissions and the party responsible for current information. A tender should allow alternatives if a planned flight is unsafe or unavailable.

Define acceptance and commercial terms

Set deliverables, file formats, report review, revisions, raw media, usage, archive, travel, taxes, rescheduling, change orders and payment milestones. Ask for a sample anonymised report or method statement where appropriate, rather than judging only by a showreel.
